Have anybody seen this device (some kind of PC) in action, maybe a preview or a prototype ?
At first sight, what do you think about ?
Cheers

To which device in particular do you refer? We use the Logicube MD-5 and now a Talon, but have also considered the Solo and a few others. I would rate them as very handy.

I have seen the similar FREDDIE. To date I have not needed to carry my lab with me to the client so the Talon has been my choice in a portable acquisition device.

It's just a computer with the tableau write blocker installed in one of the drive bays. It's a neat bridge and I like the idea of a portable computer over a laptop.

Those portables are usually very expensive. You can get a barebones portable housing and build your own for a big savings. Last I heard the tableau bridge that they are advertising was being sold only to Digital Intelligence for the various FRED systems. The one that was available to anyone lacked the SCSI port.

We have a similar device, ICS' RoadMASSter. So far, it's suited our purposes; if you need a portable forensic workstation with more grunt than a laptop, it works fine. Obvious downside is (as previous commenter mentioned) the the price.
