Although I am a little unclear on the question(s) I hope the following helps There is metadata associated with an Illustrator file (.ai) that provides information about the file.
You can save an Illustrator file in other formats (such as .eps) that can be read by Photoshop.
You can import an Illustrator file to Photoshop.
You can also drag an object from Illustrator to Photoshop as a smart object.
You can export a file in Photoshop format (.psd) from Illustrator.
Does any of that answer your question?
