Hi All,

Having just spend a week on manually veryfying hashes between source and destination across large data set (1TB, 1,5m files) I am on a hunt for a better hashing software.

I used Karens Directory and found many issues with its output, ie for 0.1% of files hash was not correct and it converted full path field from Unicode to ANSI which caused issues when comparing to export from EnCase.
Additionally I used md5deep but obviously it had long file path issues which made it very cumbersome.

What I look for in the tool is a support for
- long file path
- unicode character set
- simple csv output with full path recorded
- ideally GUI driven Windows application

If any of you guys is using software like this please post here, others might find it useful as well.

Thanks

nieuk

I use fsum, with the GUI front end for small set and just the command-line version with large sets.
