Thanks for all the responses, presently the firm I work for and myself are in contact with NUIX, Intella and Paraben to decide which is the best course of action for us.

I have been in touch with NUIX rep's (and we are pretty excited about the product) and we will be demoing this product, so how expensive is it? I have heard some conflicting things about cost. We are located in America by the way so cost in USD.

Thanks so much!

Calendar-Entries
I have not found a single program which was able to extract the calendar-entries of a .pst-file

X-Ways Forensics fails
EnCase fails

Contacts
X-Ways Forensics fails, EnCase does the job.

Emails is no problem for any of the programs…

So… calendar-entries… anyone? Definition A calendar-entry is the title + the entry itself. EnCase just extracts the title which is … useless 😉

What are you looking to do with the calendar entries? I have gotten calendar entries from PSTs using Paraben's EMX and Trident by Wave Software.

I dont say this often but Nuix is not my favority. so many bugs - have fun finding them cause the company sure wont tell you about them. Also, very limited compared to end to end edisovery solutions. Considering the price it should be top end.

As to analyzing PST and OST files there is by all means a ton of approaches out there.. If you are looking for a straightforward, simple, proven, cost effective solution I would recommend the following..

Convert the OST to PSTs using something such as Recover my Email or Kroll's product (cant remember the name off the top my head) both very inexpensive peieces of software. Recover my Email will also recover deleted emails in some instances.

IF you run into anything with errors then run Scan PST or Scan OST.

Then load all the PSTs into a clean instance/profile of Outlook. Download Windows Desktop search with all the plugins installed. Index Outlook and search it!!! So simple, cheap, FAST, and works perfect.
