I am working on a project involving a freeware write-blocking tool. The focus of this query in Android platforms.
Hoping you can help. Excuse me in advance if my questions seem simplistic.
1. Is there a commercial write blocker that automatically picks up device, OS and extracts all volatile, non-volatile drives , and backs them up ??
For Android, this would mean using either DCFLDD (EXT 2/3/4, VFAT) or NANDDUMP (YAFFS, 2) to physically back up the device …
2. Is there a tool that universally roots the ANDROID system, and can be run from the Forensics laptop, rather than data on the mobile device?
3. Is there a tool that universally circumvents Passcode / PINs / Password, to enable the physical extraction of data from the device.
