Anyone had an joy with extracting data from an Orange New York, I believe that it is an Amoi manufactured phone.
Pic here http//
Phone user reported that many hundreds of SMS were once visible but cant now be located.
The phone has not been wiped totally as I can see photos, videos audio recordings etc (frustratingly no call logs or SMS that are critical)
I tried XRY 4.5 with all Amoi phones and all Orange phone (think most are Winmobiles which this does not seem to be).
Its got a micro USB, which conects to the PC on Mass storage setting, but on pcsync/modem windows control panel reports 2x data interfaces which it cant find drivers for.
I cant seem to locate the PCsync software drives from any sites on the net.
Any help with drivers and/or extraction methods would be helpful
Best regards,
Jason
Looks a lot like an INQ1 which is also made by Amoi I believe.
If that's the case, it'll be built on a Qualcomm chip and should be pretty open.
http//psas.revskills.de/ would be my suggestion. If my guesses above are correct you should be able to browse the EFS or dump the memory over the diagnostics port.
Hope that's of some help.
Cheers, that does look interesting - thank you
I'll feed back results

Thanks for that tip, the application did get me access to the phone and I have now managed to recovery photographs that were not available on the handset.
I've managed to retrieve two files nv_gw_msg_data & header from a dir entitled SMS but cant seem to decode them with anything.
Any further help would be appreciated.
Jason
Pretty certain that the SMS aren't in that file from what I've seen of other handsets.
Maybe investigate the "mods" folder (if it's there)?
There is a Mod folder - but nothing of immediate interest.
Thank you - I've added a new tool to the tool box.
Jason
The mod directory is where the external apps are held.
I only mention it because I've found the SMS app in there before.
If it is indeed an INQ1 you will find the SMS messages under
\brew\system\message
You will see there folders and files that contain PDU format SMS messages.
I used UFED PA file system dump for this.
Hi - thanks for the assist \brew\system\message does not exist but \brew\system\vendor\message but cant retrieve any material from it. There is a sub dir called attachments (under the above) but again cant retrieve anything from within there, at least not using PSAS 1.03.
Thanks for all the help.
Jason
Use UFED Physical and perform a file system dump, it bypasses the folder protection.
I have verified this on 4 Amoi devices
Amoi INQ1
Amoi WP-S1
Amoi WP-S2
Amoi A500
