I have two Mac hard drives that have several emails in the Apple EMLX format. I'm trying to export them out of EnCase versions 6 and 7 to produce them in a searchable format for an attorney. For some reason I'm just having one *%$& of a time trying to get any meaningful results.

If I need to use another tool to perform this, I'm certainly willing to do so. Any and all input is always greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

You might try MailXaminer. I haven't tried it on EMLX files, but it's listed as a supported format.

I used FTK and exported them as a PST. This is then searchable by the client with Outlook.

To do this within Encase there is an EnScript certainly within v6. It basically converts selected emlx files and converts to an mbox which is is exported. You introduce the mbox back into the case and select it before running the usual Email search (only needing to select to MBOX option).

The results are processed in the normal- export as .msg etc.

The previous suggestions from others are of course equally valid.
