I was curious to know the significance of folder named "Application Data" in

documents and settings\<username>\application data

documents and settings\<username>\local settings\application data

Also does this application installed by one user id is made available all users?

To get you started I would recomend reviewing http//download.microsoft.com/download/3/b/a/3ba6d659-6e39-4cd7-b3a2-9c96482f5353/Managing%20Roaming%20User%20Data%20Deployment%20Guide.doc. It is for system administrators but it gives you a list of the folders in both Vista and XP and what they are used for.

Put simply this folder is where applications 'should' store user specific information during it's execution.

The answer to your final question is maybe… When an application is installated is 'may' give you the option to make it available for all users or just the the account which is being used for the install.

Hope it helps.
