Hi,

I am reaching out to the Forensic community for assistance with research that I am conducting for use in my doctoral dissertation.

My study is specific to Cloud Forensics, and I will (eventually) need to interview investigators/analysts who have performed/completed forensic cases involving cloud-based data. This might be as simple as Gmail, or as complex as corporate cloud data storage. The title of my dissertation is "AN EXPLORATION OF CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS FOR DIGITAL FORENSIC INVESTIGATIONS WITHIN CLOUD COMPUTING"

Having searched extensively through academic literature, this topic is a gap in the current knowledge base and, once completed, the study details will help everyone in this field.

I would be most appreciative if you could assist with this project.

Please contact me directly at eeppley@capellauniversity.edu

V/R,

Eric Eppley, CISSP, CCE, GCFA, GCIH

Sir - Not quite sure how to answer your question. I'd be glad to go through whatever vetting process you would set up to prove my identity, and my need for assistance.

Please let me know what the process might be.

Thanks,
Eric…

Sir, I apologize for being straight in my question. Any vetting process is too complicated over distance by time and resources. Do you expect that law enforcement professionals contribute to your research?

Question in reverse Do you eTrust me?

You want to work, see here

Mr. Gutmann,

Your question has validity, and isn't taken at all personally. I'm just trying to figure out how an "eTrust" process might work.

As for your question "Do you eTrust me? " - I suppose so. I am not intending to exchange any information of a personal nature to you, so my level of trust comes from a desire to participate on this list as well as further the digital forensics field.

To your question "Do you expect that law enforcement professionals contribute to your research?" - Expect brings the wrong connotation - I would welcome LE participation in the research study. I do not intend to inquire about any case details - I am seeking policy and procedure information, so the LE community should have no concerns over confidential data being provided. In addition, as with most University sponsored research studies, the individual participant may (at any time) halt their participation should they feel uncomfortable with any interaction or questions.

Thank you for asking !

Would any of these published materials assist you?
