AT&T iPhone 4
Apparently, the SIM card and SIM tray were the only user-serviceable parts in the AT&T iPhone 4, but iPhone does not now contain any user-serviceable parts, according to Apple.
What no SIM reads? Come on US members, tell me this is not so for AT&T iPhone?
Updated with this photo as this is an image I was looking at when I heard about AT&T iPhone 4.

Thanks agolding for your reply. I see the article is dated 2007 but I did think iPhone 4 was out in that year.
I have added the photo above of an iPhone SIM and gate for the reasons stated.
ah right didnt notice the date, are you saying the at&t iphone has no servicable parts? im sure a new cdma iphone was released on verizon so wouldnt have a SIM card? for that reason there wont be a sim card i believe. Although as i said they want to remove the need for a sim altogether anyway so it may not be long until this is started, and it only takes apple to do it for others to follow suit.

Here's the iFixit teardown for the Verizon iPhone4. Usefully most of the screen shots compare it to the standard (at&t?) handset.
On page 2 you can see that the Verizon one doesn't have a SIM slot at all - so CDMA only. Interestingly they identify the Qualcomm MDM6600 on the board which supports GSM and CDMA - so the handset has the hardware to support both - well, apart from not having a slot for the SIM!

My understanding is that the Verizon version of the iPhone 4 has a different antenna design which limits it to only be used on the CDMA network.
