How do you authenticate hotmail emails, to establish if they are genuine and if they have actually been sent?

Q Do you have access to the hotmail account, or the account to/from which they were sent/received?

I can only access what has been saved to the hard drive. I can't go online, as I don't have the password. However, the messages have been saved in Windows Live in a folder that I have restored.

Thanks

Aquaman,

there are so many if's and but's with what you are asking at the moment, are you able to give any more details?

You send a subpoena to Hotmail for the specific date-time range and server logs what is in the e-mail header.

If the message was relayed, you may subpoena those specific server logs too.
