Hello everyone, first post so be kind )

I wondered if anyone UK based could help me with an authorisation question.

I work with a Local Government Enforcement department and when going out to seize equipment, i go as an expert under the authorisation of a Public Protection Officer who has on their warrant card authority to seize goods and equipment. However is this authorisation enough ? What happens if i perform a task on the machine before we take it away ? Am i allowed to do this under someone elses authorisation or do i need it on my own warrant card ?

eg i go in under 21(8) of the The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 but is this enough or should I be authorised on my own warrant

Hope this makes sense

Samantha
