Hey ya'll, I am currently a sophomore studying computer forensics at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa. I will graduate this spring with my degree and was curious if there are any universities that offer a bachelor's degree in CF. I am willing to go anywhere in the United States. I was also looking into possibly computer science. Could anyone give me some good input on what you think would be the best idea for me. I have been looking Iowa, and the University of Georgia for Computer science. Thanks if ya can help me.

Althought more options likely exist, below are 3 US computer forensics academic programs - 2 undergrad and 1 grad.

Utica College - BS in Cybersecurity; Cybercrime Investigations and Forensics concentration.

Champlain College - BS in Computer and Digital Forensics

University of Central Florida - Graduate certificate in Computer Forensics

Incidentally, UCF has offered criminal forensics degrees for over 30 years.

All the above programs are regionally accredited and available though distance learning. Tuition for the bachelor's degrees seems expensive, in my opinion. I also believe you can't go wrong with a CS major.

Bravesrox,

Please say hi to your prof, Brian Thompson for me. We've exchanged a number of emails, and he seems to be a fan of my books. 😉

Thanks,

Harlan

bravesrox, Bloomsburg University is the place to go if you're looking for a BS in CF. They start with the basics and end with the nitty gritty advanced topics

I am going there for AccessData training in a few months. When I talked to the rep at AD I asked about the facility at Purdue versus going to another class at the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy, he said the facility at Purdue is top notch. They work closely with the Indiana State Police and do quite a bit of advanced level research. However, from what I have read the program appears to be Masters level not undergraduate.
