Hi all,
I'm trying to decide what the best Forensic software for Mobiles is, I have the capability to buy any one on the market, particularly looking for one that will recover a great amount of data and produce usable reports. Preferably something that isn't tedious to use and doesn't require a great deal of training.
If you think it's one of the software in the poll simply select and vote, if there is another that I've missed that is better please go ahead and reply )
Many thanks,
Gab
I'm sorry to repeat the most common response to this type of post but…
'What sort of phones do you examine the most?'
I am guessing by your location that you deal with mainly GSM devices from within UK borders.
What sort of examinations do you do? Do you look to go to town on every device pulling deleted data out or do you look to just present the live data?
My vote would be with either MSAB's XRY or Cellebrite. Both packages offer a huge amount of device support and are constantly adding new support and features.
I would suggest talking to both vendors and I am sure they would be happy to arrange a demo or a time limited test.
Be prepared to pay for them though. They are the 'premium' forensic products and as such carry a decent price tag.
I too am with Doug.
It really does depend on what devices you intend to look at and how much 'delving' you would like to carry out.
Saying that, Oxygen also has some nice features )
As probably already posted on the forum somewhere, there certainly is not a 'one stop shop' when it comes to mobile devices.

You asked about their ease of use so I should probably also say that they are both incredibly easy to use.
Understanding the data you are extracting and the way it persists on the device is the hard part and is what causes the biggest divide in the services available from mobile phone examiners. Pressing the button to extract it with a tool is really only the tip of the iceberg )
If you invest in a product I would urge you to look at the training offered by the vendors as well as additional training to understand the data you are dealing with.
MSAB run lots of courses

As do Cellebrite

For vendor neutral training I can personally recommend Kevin's courses
