I am looking for a solution, that allows me to retain an exact copy of a binary file (PDF, AVI, JPG, EXE) etc. This system would only retain files that have been marked, tagged, bookmarked from within my cases. If a future case has the same files, it will allow me to see the correlation between the two cases.

Basically Looking for a File Repository system, that allows me to keep only one copy of the file but allows me to append information like (Other File Names, and Previously Seen Cases).

For example

Suspect #1 (SAN DIEGO, CA) Date 2010, Has file SecretAccounts.TXT (MD5 123456)

Suspect #265 (Tampa, FL) Date 2018, Has File SecretAcc.txt (MD5 123456)

There is no way for me to track unique files between 100's of cases. I am looking for a system that

1. Allows me to keep a true copy of the original file, and append information so that I don't have to keep multiple copies of the file.

2. Alert me when I upload, compare against a hash table, that this file was seen previously in 2010 in San Diego, CA, etc..

Note Most software on the market today allows us to do correlations between items within the same case, but not a many to many of all previous cases.

Thoughts?
