Hello All,
Anyone find any tool that supports extracting data from the new BB10 BBB file?
I know its an archive of encrypted tar files, I have the password but need to find something that can actually handle the format.

The backup is not encrypted with the user password. The encryption key is set by the device. As far as I know, the only way to extract the data is to restore it to the device or to another device with the same user BlackBerry ID entered. If you find out otherwise, please let us know.

Interesting if that's how it's done on BlackBerry 10. I'm on BlackBerry's legacy os (BBOS), and when I make a backup, the backup file is not encrypted unless I set a password for the backup file prior to making the backup.

They had a problem with people pirating apps off the early PlayBook builds so BB encrypts all backups on PlayBook and BB10 now.

I tested it briefly with my Z10, but I've been forced over to iPhone by my firm, so I can't test it again.

You need to have Blackberry Desktop Manager software installed. You need to synchronize to Outlook, making sure that "Synchronize Organizer Data" is selected. The contacts will then be available in your Outlook Contacts. You need to 'select all' and email to yourself. They will then be sent as individual vcf files. Then you Save Attachments to a folder on your computer. You then need to open Nokia PC Suite. Then manage your contacts and add the files where you saved them.
