I am working with a blackberry 8900. I am trying to create a disk image of the system memory. I was going to use DD to make the image but the phone isnt recognized in linux. I cant get windows to recognize the phone as a drive. How can I create a disk image of the phone? If I can't, how can I recover deleted data from the phone with comprimising the phone. Any help would be great.

To recover BB data including deleted data and deleted BBM, use the Cellebrite UFED that supports this model.

Then use UFED Physical analyzer to decode the extraction.

Is that the only option? I contacted the company to get a trial copy, but I haven't heard back. Is there any other way to get a disk image?

You can get a full memory image by memory chip removal.

This is a process where the memory chip is physically removed from the phone, then read, the result of which is a raw memory image.

We can assist you with this if needed, send me a PM or e-mail our enquiries e-mail (see the website) marked for my attention.
