I'm having an issue with blackberry devices updating their time and date once i connect them to my computer. Within Blackberry Desktop Software, I know there is an option under device options to not sync the time and date with your computer, but it appears to me that the option is set 'per device', and not as a general rule. When I connect a new device, it gets updated. Does anyone know how to globally set this option to never sync your machine date and time with the deviceÉ
Have you looked in the Synchronize settings?
There should be an option there to turn it off which is global.
Well, when I don`t have a device connected, most of the options are greyed out. I`m using 6.0.1.18. I don`t see a general synchronize option, the only options for syncing are when the device is actually attached, unfortunately the device updates before i get a chance to disable the function.
Ok, maybe it's something different depending on the version.
I'm currently using BlackBerry Desktop Manager v5.0.1.28 which allows this setting through the Synchronize option.
May be worth rolling back to this or another version to ensure you can activate this feature?
I'd try and keep the BlackBerry desktop software as old and legacy as possible. the newer releases are more pitched towards the media side of things, and are a lot more idiot-proof. Unfortunately, this also means that a lot of the advanced configuration previously available in the software is either removed or a lot harder to find.
On a side note, I was trying to remove a single calendar from my own device yesterday and found that there was no way to do this using version 6 of the BBDTS. I had to roll back to version 5 to accomplish the 10 second task.

I downgraded and I think that might have helped! I was able to deselect the date/time sync option and tested successfully across a couple of devices.

I just wonder if the older blackberry software may miss anything during it's backup. Searching around I don't see much discussion of this, are people not updating their BB software?
