Dear all,
I'm investigating a Blackberry 9000. Some files, suffixed JPG, are present in its internal memory. However, the files are not traditional JPG images, and there is no distinguishable headers.
I tried to read them via the Blackberry simulator, but to no avail the simulator does not recognize them.
I managed to find deleted (traditional) jpg images with X-Ways, so I guess that the Blackberry understands common JPG.
Is anybody familiar with the JPG format of blackberry? Is there an encryption/decryption mechanism used by blackberry when it saves and reads pictures?
Thanks for any comment or lead.
Take care,
David.
These "odd" Jpegs - were they live files?

Can you display the first 100 or so bytes of the file - as long as this does not contradict any issues on confidentiallity.
It is just possible someone may recognise the format.
