Is there any way to bypass the handset security lock on a android handset. I have tried putting it close to a light to see fingerprints but no such luck ?

If you're going that route, have you dusted it, and normal light isn't the best way to view that.

Do you know hot to use bootloaders? Can bypass it with that no problems.

That's why I was asking you if you know how to use bootloaders, if you don't then it's a bit too complicated to try to walk you through.

where could I get the relevant information from? Thanks

Bob,

In the latest Cellebrite UFED Physical release, we added about 12 Android devices with full flash extraction and decoding (not just the active partition) with a method that also bypass user locks.

I am not aware of any other tool that allows you to perform anything on locked devices (unless debug is enabled, which generally it is not).

Obviously, Cellebrite is working to support additional models and additional methods of extraction and already have very promising directions (beside the obvious rooting methods that will also be supported very soon)

I have been quite a bit of playing with Odin and rewriting the kernels - not found a suitable one yet.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Ron,

Does this list include the Samsung Galaxy S or HTC Droid Incredible by chance?

HAs anyone looked at viaForensics? According to their site the lastest version of viaExtract has the ability to display the pattern lock code on Android devices. I have just put in a requition to get the program so it will be a few weeks before I get my hands on it to test it out and see how effective it is.
