Has anyone ever used this before? IF so, can you provide me some information about it? Was it useful? Limitations?
Thanks
Hiii…
Will u please specify ur problem in detail???
I'm not saying I have a problem. I am simply asking everyone's opinion of this software.
Hi there,
As a loyal user of the software, here's what I can tell you from personal experience…
CacheBack is the only product on the market that will rebuild cached web pages in their original format, for both IE and Firefox. Version 2 now incorporates Internet Histories as well for both browsers.
Perhaps the best feature of CacheBack is its inherent ability to display HTML pages as thumbnail images thereby making it easier to examine files. Right-mouse click and you can rebuild one or more web pages in just seconds!
The reporting is great too because it incorporates thumbnails that hyperlink to the rebuilt web page as a popups. The other great feature is the Link Analysis feature which draws relationships between recovered History URLs and URLs embedded in web pages. This is a great way to relate activities and find out which items were clicked on.
I like the built-in SQL Custom Query feature that allows me to not only save my queries as Favorites, but I can share them on my system or network using .INI files. No more retyping the same queries.
If you want to see what it can do, just download the 15-day fully functional version from the website (
Oh yes…there is also User Forums for the software and is open to anyone who has bought OR is simply evaluating the software. There are a lot of answers to some good questions there. The forums are found at http//cacheback.proboards98.com.
According to the Users listing on the website, CacheBack is currently being used by several federal agencies including the RCMP, the FBI, the DOD, etc….
Version 3 is apparently already being planned for next year and will include a large number of new features – but they are still under wraps.
Just my 2 cents…
Cheers! P
Hi,
I have to agree with Roper724. I have been using Cacheback for about 4 months and am very happy with the results. Normally we would use Netanalysis for Internet reports, but nothing paints a better picture than a rebuild web page.. especially for a jury.
I've very recently had a look at the evaluation edition and it seems to be a level above the current Netanalysis program I'm using. The presentation of results is in my view as important as the ease of analysis and it seems to do this well. It also accepts netanalysis created files so is looking tempting as a replacement.
I will try the trial download later today, it does seems worthy of checking out.
The things that concern me initially is that it's double the price of NetAnalysis, and their site says support for Version 1 users has been discontinued, which isn't a good sign for anyone concerned if the same will soon happen to the current version. Support over 1 year is extra fee on top as well.
Also the post by Roper724 seems to be very enthusiastic, and may be
Just my 2 penneth!!!
I have just looked at the site and downloading it now. It looks good infact too good LOL
I agree with Johnathon with his remarks.
Has anyone actually tested this software. by that i mean recovered a web page. then manually recovered it, and see if the images, structure, ect MATCH.
Also the post by Roper724 seems to be very enthusiastic, and may be
astroturfing? Of course, I'm willing to be shown otherwise!
Strange…there's a user by the name of 'Roper' on the Guidance boards who happens to be a one John Bradley who also happens to be the author of CacheBack.
That may go some way to explaining his 'enthusiasm' for the CacheBack software!
And he's posted just once here, to say how good the product is….
