Also the reference to unsuccessful call attempt, I have seen (eg in Hutchinson 3 call records) these before, is that what you were referring when you said "missed call"?

By "missed call" I meant a successful connection which is not answered. In the regulation 2009 of UK I saw it specifically mentioned.

Your questions may only apply only to missed calls, but if you have others as far as retention periods and what they can or cannot do I would suggest you come up with eight or ten questions. List them in an Excel format, check with the service providers in your area and update your list every 90 days or so.

There is no easy answer and most everything is carrier specific.

thanks Ed, I will try to contact the service providers and check with them what all data can be provided by them.

OK, thank you for confirming the position.

You may find it helpful when making your enquiries if you define your definitions of what you mean by 'missed call'- eg what type of scenario/event have you in mind that caused a call to be 'missed'?

thanks trewmte for making me aware of the terminology to be used. I am working in the mobile device data and is a newbie to service Provider data analysis. In mobile device context its more obvious what a 'missed called' is. Can you suggest some starting reads related to the cell site analysis ? I saw you have a invited only blog on Cellsiteanalysis, can I send you a mail to access the blog ?

I'll email you some links.

Thanks and I do appreciate you asking to have access to my blogs.

The criteria for access to blogs either

a) Law Enforcement
b) Security Services (MI5, MI6, CID, SB, FBI….)
b1) Security Specialists - a proven record in security for
networks, digital forensics, handsets, SIM, CDR etc
c) Authorised individuals (people whom I know)

I have put your name on the waiting list. The blog 'Invites Table'
and 'Permissions Tables' only has a limited number of places and the
Invites Table is full at present; hence why I can only put your details on a
waiting list at present. Should those who requested access before you
not respond to the Invites that they requested then they are removed from
the Invites Table and your name moves up the waiting list and when at the
top then gets entered into the Invites and Permissions Tables.

I am sorry if the delay causes you disappointment but I never realised
that there would be so many people wanting to gain access and I hope
you understand my reasons above.

I will revert to you in due course as and when your name goes onto the
'Invites Table'.

Once again, many thanks
Kind regards
Greg
