Encase should be faster then FTK for indexing and keyword searching.
Why? Any statistics, any knowledge about the new engine or something? I say this because the older EnCase engine wasn't exactly a piece of art lol , while everytime I've used dtSearch the results have been quite amazing.
Does anyone use a tool named Mercury that the word indexing add-on for EnCase. In its web saidMercury brings higt-speed, word index-based searching to EnCaseâ„¢ users. Instantly pinpoint high-value keywords and phrases using dynamic search results and proximity phrases.

I was just asking if you know why the new version of EnCase should be faster than FTK for indexing/searching, taking into account that the current version doesn't even allow the indexing. That's why I asked about the search engine the new version will use.
By the way, silkroad, I had never heard about that Mercury but it sounds very interesting. It adds a very important feature EnCase was really lacking. Thanks.

At the risk of hijacking the Encase thread…
I'm a beta tester of Mercury, and I have to say I and my colleagues rather like it! It's interoperability with Encase is great, allowing you to perform searches and select items of interest for conversion back into Encase bookmarks.
The indexed searching of Mercury and Encase's traditional grep-based searching work in entirely different ways, I've found I use grep for some stuff and Mercury for others. Either way I wouldn't be without Mercury now!
