I am about to pursue my Phd in field of printers forensics can any one suggest me some topics and paper related to printers forensic. I need some topic related to physical device printer. I need some valuable suggestions from all of you. Please help me.
I recommend that you focus on the aspects of printer demons. In the early days of cyber attacks it was easy to misuse the printer demons in a net. To know from an sysadmin's perspective the timely use of printer demons related to logged-in users (local or remote) a dashboard to monitor could be an interesting dashboard to make net visibility higher. Do not forget that todays MFP printers often have USB ports to scan or print jobs. Have you ever investigated scanned code by an OCR to run a USB flash drive to net attack?
What is your mind?
This popped up in my Twitter feed yesterday.

NSA having a backdoor in your printers.

"Those fossilized printers confirmed a theory we’d developed in 2014, but had been unable to prove namely, the existence of a specific feature in RSA’s BSAFE TLS library called “Extended Random” — one that we believe to be evidence of a concerted effort by the NSA to backdoor U.S. cryptographic technology."
