CaseMap alternative?

Can you recommend a nice piece of software for putting all facts, documents and findings together?

I was looking at LexisNexis CaseMap but with every update it gets more expensive and I don't think it's really worth paying that kind of money for a small company (if you're a legal office it's probably a partner's lunch cost 😉 ).

I've also looked at MasterFile but it is too closely tied with Lotus with I really hate - I'm not sure it requires Lotus Notes to be installed but it certainly duplicates its GUI and usage patterns…

Do you know an alternative for those two? It doesn't have to be free but it would be nice to recognize something reasonably priced..
