Time sensitive, but may be of particular interest to CF students.
Good post, thanks. Background here http//
Good stuff. From what I caught the Detective (Forensic Examiner) was asked to validate the time photograph(s) were taken. She stated that time (configured) on the camera was a specific date. The attorney asked was the camera set to the correct time and the Examiner stated that she did not receive the camera for analysis.
Food for thought. Probably wise when asked to validate photograph meta data to also confirm the time settings on the camera.
The cross examining attorney asked the examiner the basics. "Can multiple people use the same computer", "Can multiple people use the same password"
The Forensic Examiner was also asked to validate certain 'internet searches performed on the computer'.
Validate was a poor choice by Pros. You don't validate an internet search,

Sorry, I am not getting it. ?
Say I have a camera.
I take batteries out/completely dicharge them/do a full reset.
Date will default to January, 1, 1999 or something like that.
I wipe the memory card.
Today, June 8th, 2011, at 0600 PM I set the date to June 7th, 2011, time 0605 PM and take two shots.
Then, I set the date to June 8th, 2011 (correct date), time 0615 PM (correct time) and take another two shots.
What can be said - even after having examined the camera - about the accuracy/correctness of date and time settings?

hmmmm Cacheback being used when was the last time you heard of that being a major tool.
Is ChashBack publicly traded? Buy some shares, as every college professor teaching 'forensics' is going to require it for graduation…
Yes the symbol is $$$ jump in Jhup.

It is interesting that SiQuest/Cacheback/John Bradley is directly involved with the Casey Anthony case…

I see your point and it seems like many scenarios can play out. My comment was merely just to add that step into an acquisition team's checklist.
