Can anyone recommend a cd/dvd encryption software please?
Thanks,
Chris
Maybe it is not a bad idea just to create an encrypted TrueCrypt volume (TrueCrypt is a freeware tool) big enough to contain whatever you want to burn, and after that, just burn the encrypted container.
The cd will be given to someone who won't have access to TrueCrypt and won't be able to install any additional software, so really I'm just after something that will prompt the user for a password when they put the cd in the drive.

I have never used it but TrueCrypt does have a Traveler Mode which is designed for your situation. I believe the user has to be an admin and some registry files are added that will indicate that Truecrypt was used.
Winzip 11.1 uses 256 bit encryption, and individualy encrypts each file in the zip.
If you then run the self extractor over it (you need the licensed version to create an encrypted self extracting file) you will have a distributable, secure file that does not require the recipient to install any software or have admin rights.
The downside is that the files have to be extracted.
You can also script both tools.
Hope this helps
I would recommend the Ashampoo Magical Security Suite. I have been using it for some time and would seem to be the application that you are after.

Allan,
thanks for the reply. I have looked at the product specs and it says the user needs full administrator rights, which the people we are giving our cd's to won't have.

I know its late in the day, not sure if you have found a solution.
If you have not then take a look at CD Lock http//
This should do what you require

Vinny,
we used cd lock before with xp, but we are on 64-bit vista business now and the vista version doesnt seem to want to lock or unlock without administrator access which our clients won't have.
