CEIC 2005
For those seriously interested in computer forensics, this is definitely the place to go. Lots of senior forensic experts and vendors showing off the latest in forensic hardware and software.
It’s mostly Encase centric with lots of free hands on labs showing the latest in technology and techniques. The labs cover such topics as email recovery and are very similar to the EnCase in-house training, but much more concise.
Link to this years EnCase labs. (2005 labs not announced yet)
I went this year really and got a lot out of it. I regret not going last year. It’s located at the Marriott Grand Dunes Resort Hotel at Myrtle Beach, SC. (US) The cost is $500 until Oct 12th after that $1000. The hotel is right on the beach and normally costs about $300 a night. If you attend the conference the hotel cost is $150. Lots of giveaways and several of the meals are provided by the vendors, so the cost once you get there isn’t too bad.
I can’t stress enough how good of an experience this is, especially if you just getting started in the forensic field. Not only are the labs good, it’s a great way to meet others in the field and find out about different opportunities.
It fills up fast (especially the hotel). So you will want to register as soon as you can.
If you have any questions, let me know. (I’m not affiliated with it in any way)
Hope to see you there

Thanks for this, Steve. I'll look into adding an events page to the site so we have a more permanent note of this kind of thing.
Cheers,
Jamie
