So like my other post about the Cellebrite times, this one is about the Logicube CellDEK call history dates and durations.
CellDEK Version 1. 13. 0. 0 (at the time)
Items examined in this report LG VX10000
Carrier Verizon
When examining the report, the times given for the duration is so out of whack it isn't funny. The dates given range from 06 Jan 1980 through 26 Aug 2031.
I am quite sure that the phone wasn't out in 1980 and that the phone hasn't been used in 2031 yet…unless the owner time travels…lol.
Can anyone answer why this is or point me to any documentation explaining this?
I have a trouble ticket into Logicube, but have not heard back from them.
Handset clock reference 'Years' sprang to mind when I read your post, but I do not use CellDEK so a user of it, no doubt, may suggest there is an correction update for it? Doesn't Logicube publish a list of update version history of corrections and/or additions to the product? That way you might see if other users have raised the same issue previously and corrective action taken.
I talked to Logicube tech support today and they couldn't help me over the phone. I ended up sending my report (sanitized) to their engineers and they have been trying to figure the issue out.
No doubt Logicube will be using the same make/model and firmware version of handset to replicate the same conditions under which you were working. Does CellDEK operate as third party software on your computer and is your computer calculating the date and time from the raw data obtained by CellDEK? If so, you may want to identify to Logicube which OS etc computer (or MAC) you used. Just a passing thought.
There could be a simple explanation to your issue, but it is useful to explore possibilities which might influence misinterpretation of raw data.
Just to let you know (if you weren't already aware), and so you don't think your Clock issue is unique, there have been many events noted with mis-calculated date/time for SMS text messages over the years with an array of examining software and one issue causing this is mis-programming the Time Zone indicators. If you haven't seen it, have a read of GSM3.40 and browse the content
Service-Centre-Time-Stamp (SCTS)
Service Centre Functional Requirements
TP-Service-Centre-Time-Stamp (TP-SCTS)
And then have a read have a read of 3GPP 23 040 to corroborate whether the position has changed.
If your curiosity extends further, have a browse of 3GPP 23 140 to see how multimedia messaging time stamps are dealt with.

Thank you for the post, I will definitely take a look at this.
As for the 3rd party install, CellDEK is it's own unit. It is basically a briefcase with a Fujitsu tablet PC, a memory/SIM card reader with with cables.
I have tried to check to make sure they systems clock is set correctly, but to do so requires a password that Logicube doesn't want to provide.
Thanks again.
