I have a Cellebrite physical analyzer problem I looking for input on.

I ran an extraction on a Samsung phone earlier his week. I have a new Windows 8 PC (6gb ram) I just recently got for free and used it to run the physical analyzer. The data loaded really slow compared with prior processing (done on slower PCs) and came to a near stop while the Android driver was loading.

To see if the issue was my new PC I ran the physical analyzer on an Asus laptop that came with Susteen Secureview 3 (it's an inexpensive net book with windows 7 and a slower processor). The extraction data loaded with no issue.

Has anyone came across a similar issue or have an idea what the issue is?

Thx

CM

Did the extracted data fully decode in the end on the PC? We have had issues with default chains recently on newer releases of PA for a couple of Samsung Galaxy (Android) models, but after playing around and altering the plugins we ran the scripts again and the data was fully decoded.

It might be worth viewing the Trace window on PA to check what scripts are running, or use the Chain manager to take a look? Alternatively, save a log and contact Cellebrite's tech support which have always been helpful to me!

I haven't played with the plugins yet. I thought it was odd the PA worked fine on my cheap Windows 7 laptop but not my Windows 8 Table top computer. I'm almost tempted to install Windows 7 on my PC.

It is a bit of a strange one… the workstation I use is Windows 7. Maybe Cellebrite are aware of an issue with Windows 8 or an issue with the specific model profile your using. I'm sure RonS will bump into this post! I will say though that the default scripts for the latest Android models (Galaxy S3 mini and S4 had to be a little adjusted recently to work! Rest of the time, works like a treat!

I think, USB 2.0 works as USB 1.0. You need some tests for your Windows 8 PC.
Will you to be able to do tests to data extraction from other phones?

So far other phones have worked. I tried the USB 3.0 too but same problem. What's the longest any of you have seen PA data to load?

Depends on a whole host of things really; from your workstation computer specs (e.g. amount of RAM), to the size of physical dump etc… I see a hell of a lot of Galaxy S III's unfortunately and the decoding can take up to 30/45mins..? It really depends.

Any idea why the physical file would load faster to a 32-bit laptop than a 64-bit PC?
