Recently we purchased a new Cellebrite UFED Touch Ultimate. We have had it for about 2 months and processed around 60 phones on it. About 40 of them were androids. Prior to this while in law enforcement, my partners and I have used a variety of cellebrite's for many many years and processed hundreds to probably thousands of phones.

For the first time that any of us can recall we have a Google Nexus One device (its a number of years old but was the principal phone of the client up until 2 months ago.) to process. We are looking for deleted material on the device and so after running the device in a logical method, we acquired it physically and acquired the file system through the UFED straight to our forensic machine. Everything goes great until we start trying to process our acquisition. As soon as the process reaches the plugin Android Databases, it hangs. We have tried to restarting it several times and waiting a variety of period (including 22 hours the last time), all with no change. This is the first time I can recall this happening and my partners are stumped as well. Any ideas or has anyone had this kind of issue before?

From your description, it is UFED Physical Analyzer that hangs during the decoding phase.
Can you send me the log file from UFED PA ( under help menu, select zip log file). Sent you my email in PM

Ron

I'd suggest you contact Cellebrite's support team because they are very good, but it appears you've already made contact with a higher authority. Cellebrite has always been great to me. The one time I thought they didn't answer me it was my overly agressive spam filter that kept them out.

Cellebrite has been completely amazing in its support and they are working to fix my issue. My question was from the point that I had never experienced an issue like this with any of my previous cellebrite cases and I figured that I was doing something wrong. I was hoping a quick thought that might place me back on track, but it sounds like its an issue with the target device and my new UFED Touch.

I cant say enough good things about Cellebrite and their tech support. They are simply amazing and make the price well worth it.
