Hello everyone D

I would like your opinion on the best overall forensic tool for china clones.

I need to put some suggestions to the management team as per their request and as we don't see many china clone handsets I would like to get the opinion from analysts who do see these types of handsets and what tool(s) you use.

Regards.

Chinex (CelleBrite), Tarantula, XRY and for the devices that aren't supported by those Avator Box (which is the same as the Chinex but supports many more handset chip sets and only costs about 90GBP).

The AvatorBox is not a forensic tool so use with caution. But it can recover a binary dump of many unsupported handsets for further analysis with UFED PA or XRY…

What kind of chinese phones? There are two kinds of chinese phones
1 those made by china's relatively big companies such as Haier,ZTE,Huawei,Changhong,Bird
2 those made by minor companies(typically utilizing chipsets from MTK,spreadtrum)

For 1 phones,UFED,XRY,etc are good and for 2 phones,Tarantula and SafeMobile work relatively good.

One tool I did not see mentioned was Velocitor (AccessData). My understanding is it works similar to Chinex and Tarantula but covers many more Chinese chip sets.
