Hi there!

I'm looking into taking a CISSP boot camp prior to my exam. I plan on studying on my own with various books but also am seriously considering a boot camp.

Does anyone out there have recommendations for a boot camp? There seems to be endless companies out there that want my money with various programs and I was hoping to get some feedback.

Many thanks!

Mile_High_Events,

I took a CISSP boot camp from the SANS (www.sans.org) organization about 6 years ago. I took the test and passed it about 6 months later. Needless to say I studied a lot on my own after the course, before taking the test.

A few things to remember about the CISSP test

1. It covers a wide range of topics but none too deeply. The key is knowing how much detail you should learn.

2. The CISSP, like any test, should be taken with the perspective of the test writer in mind, in this case ISC2.

The SANS boot camp helped tremendously getting me in the proper mindset to take the test and pass it.

Good luck!

Thanks, Tony.

I was contemplating taking their ondemand (remote, self paced instruction) over the Internet.

Has anyone tried this with SANS?

Thanks!

OnDemand (at least for me) had some early technical difficulties. However the last two I took were much better. I do have to say that there are still some issues with the way the recordings leave out some of the live content.

However OnDemand is a very economical method to take SANS classes.
