Interested to know what tools are being used to extract and analyze emails from providers such as yahoo, gMail, and other cloud based email?

Thanks,

Any body else had trouble extracting yahoo email. No export function with browser client and unable to use thunderbird to pull down emails as not yahoo imap and pop3 not supported.

You can also check out our Forensic Email Collector for cloud email preservation.

Another tool that also allows you to filter what is downloaded by header or body text is Aid4Mail.

I have had some success with the X1 Social Discovery product - http//www.x1.com/

There are some provider specific collection tools built into the Social Discovery product, and if your experience has taught you some hard-earned configuration lessons, the generic adapters can be setup for customizable configurations.

I have used Transend email migration tool in the past. Works great and is able to pull a mailbox and convert it into a PST.

I too have had some success with X1 Social Discovery. My best experience is using Aid4Mail, hands down the best one I've used and does conversions too. Microsoft Outlook works as well, but be careful and make sure you get all the attachments. I've had some success with Nuix and some failures as well. Cellebrite Cloud Analyzer is for Law Enforcement only.

Aid4Mail is the one you want!
