Hey, a long shot but after reading up on the standards I'm wondering if anyone has actually gotten their fingers dirty and wrote some code for reading data off a USIM?

Tulp has a plugin which should read USIMs. It's open source so you could take a look at that.
PySIM I think only does GSM SIMs but, again, open source, different language, might be interesting to look at.

I'm developing the TULP framework. The USIM is somewhat limited, alhough I can't find the actual specs for it…
