I saw this write blocker and looks cheap, but is it any good? Does anyone have experience with it or the company?

Looks cool, reviews are good too. I guess the "too good to be true" light blinking in my head gives me hesitation.

I have done business with them before and they were very good to work with. They shipped quickly and their prices were good. Years ago I had purchased a SATA to IDE adaptor when I needed one in a pinch.

Not sure who is really making this write-blocker, but it's been my experience with the more eclectic/unique devices (those made by a shop most of us haven't heard of) can have compatability issues, so it would be worth asking if they have tested it on a variety of systems first.

I have this Coolgear WB. So far so good. I validated it using this procedure (http//forensicfocus.blogspot.com/2008/01/validating-write-blockers.html) using a 3.5" 40BG SATA drive.

The build quality isn't as robust as other WBs, like the Tableau products, but it will do. It can handle 2.5" and 3.5" SATA and IDE drives.

The WBing feature isn't "hot swappable". You must power off the WB if you want to switch from RO to RW (or vice versa).
