Hi all,
I know that we can count the number of mails in PST using FTK. But are there are any other tools (small preferably) that would give me instant count of number of mails in it?
Thanks in advance,
Sudha )
Check with Paraben Email Examiner…….
humm…
Paraben Email Examiner is payed software right?
My Org. has already spent money for FTK and I'm really sure that they would not want to buy another…
So it would be helpful if its a free software…
I tried "SysExporter" from NIRSOFT. It gives the count of the mails but in the same fashion as that of outlook i.e. we will need to open the PST and then browse through the folders to know the count.

Sudha try Paraben's tool. Domo will fork for 30 days.
There are at least few methods. And a number of applications, which can do that.
1. Count them in Outlook
2. Use a dedicated tool (e.g. Paraben's Examiner)
3. Use an extraction tool (e.g. mapitool), which will divide the .PST into .MSGs and count the .msgs.
The results may be (or actually, almost certainly will be) different. That's for a simple reason - the applications may treat non-mail items of .psts (calendar entries, attachments, address books, etc) in various ways.
