Followed the first option and it worked D
Finallyy , able to open the image perfectly in FTK Imager )

Thank you !! !

Good. D

What remains "queer" is why (probably the fuse overlay masks it ? ) you hadn't originally an explicit error when dd attempted to copy the data to the FAT32 filesystem exceeding its maxfilesize.

Well, can't say anything about it.

So my tip about FAT32 was good and jaclaz assisting with pretty detailed dd usage details did lead to good end results. Congrats!

Well, with all due respect, "your tip"
http//www.forensicfocus.com/Forums/viewtopic/p=6584361/#6584361

What if your target sdcard is bad ? It is supposed to be FAT formatted or is it ext4 ? If it is FAT, how can you save a 8.1GB image on it, since the 4GB file size limit ?!

came well after jaclaz's one
http//www.forensicfocus.com/Forums/viewtopic/p=6584344/#6584344

How big (in size, EXACT number of bytes) the resulting /sdcard/test.img?
I mean, it is not that you are hitting a file size issue on the (I presume FAT32 formatted) SD card?

And as a matter of fact the image size was provided because of the above.

If you want to call yours a "confirming tip" it's fine of course. )

Let's call it a "confirming tip", as you say! )

I was more concerned of a physically bad sdcard, thinking about maxfilesize limits came only after it. Good that it worked out well!

This also gave good points to dd, it remained a trusted utility in my eyes )

PS. My hat's off to jaclaz FF Senior Member anyway for the so many helping posts overall!

Yep ) , and - JFYI - once you will know the origin of the dd name
https://web.archive.org/web/20141005163720/http//www.djmnet.org/lore/dd-origin.txt

you'll probably appreciate it (and its terrible and terrifying command syntax and parameters) a lot more.
