I have been asked to examine a Nokia 6300 handset as part of an investigation. The handset is a Nokia 6300 which is supposed to contain a crucial text message.
I have used xry to examine the handset and the significant SMS was not recovered, a manual examination confirmed that the SMS is not available logically. The handset owner now confirms that the SMS in question has been deleted.
Is anyone aware of any software or technique for recovering deleted SMS from the Nokia 6300?
Thanks
Have you checked to make sure that the SMS messages are not stored on the memory card?
Sadly XACT v4.4 does not list this handset as a supported model.
The Nokia 6300 is a BB5 handset so physical memory recovery (and therefore deleted sms) is not possible with currently available software.

Doug,
Unfortunately the owner of the handset has confirmed that she deleted the text message in question. SMS were stored on media card.
Cheers
So if they were stored on the memory card and she deleted the message would it not be possible to image the memory card and possibly recover the SMS messages that way?

Sorry Doug,
Typo error. SMS were NOT stored on media card. It's been a long day cry
Make that a long week
No, a long year already
Thanks
Jim
No problem!
Sadly you are pretty much out of luck then as per alex101's comments RE BB5.

Whats the solution for deleted contents in phone memory ?

Sadly there isn't one. (
There is a solution!
We can retrieve all deleted data from 6300 phone memory via chip removal. We have done dozens of Nokia 6300's for major UK police forces and always had success at pulling off deleted contents. If anyone is interested in costs or more information please feel free to pm me.
