There is a solution!
We can retrieve all deleted data from 6300 phone memory via chip removal. We have done dozens of Nokia 6300's for major UK police forces and always had success at pulling off deleted contents. If anyone is interested in costs or more information please feel free to pm me.
What about chip replacement? Does the phone work afterwards? roll
just want to ask if the deleted messages could be extracted doing a Hex dump with a flasher box, like a JAF box. Has any one tried this ?
Jezza,
nowadays it is impossible to use flasher boxes for that case. No one of them can dump full memory. They can extract only PM range and as you probably know BB5s store SMS messages outside PM. The solution is coming, I hope.

I like your approach Rafael. You raise a technical constructive criticism of another product yet willing demonstrate with clarity the basis of that criticism. I cannot say I know every system on the market but my knowledge as it was previously and as it is up-to-date suggests to me that I agree with your observation about BB5s storing SMS outside of PM.
Coligulus,
There will be a way of replacing the chip. The reason we don't do this is in case the defence request a repeat examination. We always preserve the evidence (the chip) so that a defence expert can do the same if requested. If you had someone who knew what they were doing i suppose the chip could be replaced.

Hi,
Thanks for your response.
I assume you perform a 'live' examination on the handset prior to removing the chip? How will the defence be able to do this without the chip having been replaced?
I'm sure there are people that can replace the chip, probably using the machines that put them there in the first place.
Chip removal is a great tool to have at your disposal when applicable however my personal feelings are that this is an absolute last resort in the most serious of cases and not something to be conducted willy nilly.
