I was wondering if anyone has knowledge about powerful software/hardware that can make the detection of forged documents easier.

I've got one product (http//www.fosterfreeman.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=9vsc-6000&catid=1examination-of-questioned-documents&Itemid=28)

Is it the best out there? or anyone has competing solutions?

Maybe a little bit of a discussion ,

Many thanks.

Wht exactly do you mean by forged documents? Fake ID's/passports, faked seals, or photoshopped pictures?

What, in your mind, constitutes a "forged document"?

As you have quoted the Video Spectral Comparator-6000 of Foster & Freeman other equipments are-

Forensic XP-4010D of ScienceGL, Inc.
Docucenter-NIRVIS of Projectina Ltd. now acquired by makers of IBIS Forensic Technology

These tools are highly useful in detection of counterfeit security documents.

All have mostly similar features. However I would suggest VSC-6000 and Forensic XP4010D (not in the order of my preference). Just check the specification of both, choose the one which is suitable as per requirement. BTW it also depends on your budget!
