Hello,

I'm new here and i found this forum on google, through "finfisher search".

It's real that we can spy on other computers and telephones? Aren't those thecniques only avaiable to governements?

like cracking emails?

It looks very intersting, but this kind of information/applications/knowledge aren't avaiable to the average joe right?

I mean i thought it was only for computers pro's, hackers and police.

But this forum looks very interesting, good work on it 8)

I think 'Spying' is probably an unnecessarily negative description - too much emotion, and media hype associated with it; consider the use of tools (such as FinFisher) and techniques used by Law Enforcement more as "tactical lawful interception" solutions 😉

Cracking emails? Are you referring to interception of emails, cracking passwords for email accounts, recovering & cracking passwords from the subject’s computer via registry, memory dumps, etc, or online access to email accounts? Law Enforcement (in general) can legally request all email information for a specific account, including deleted emails, IP addresses used, etc from the service provider in most instances - which provides far more useful information than simply accessing an email account (whose contents may actually have been routinely cleared by the user) using a captured username and password.

Interestingly; more companies are moving towards commercial and in many ways similar in some ways to FinFisher (keystroke logging, email alerting, geo-location information, screenshots, keyword triggers, network interception, etc) real-time/monitoring solutions within enterprises but under the guise of corporate information security monitoring/real-time audit solutions for computers and mobiles - though conveniently this is not considered to be spying as long as

1.The corporate Acceptable Usage Policy (agreed to by the user) states and permits that the company “can and will routinely monitor all corporate computing devices for compliance with legal and corporate requirements”
2.It is permitted under local laws/though still a very grey area in many countries
3.It is regularly audited to ensure no abuse of the monitoring solution by those managing the solution
4. The AP states that coporate supplied computing devices are for business use only

Just a thought …

Hello,

thanks for the answer )

But can really forensic tools be used to get information for example on competitor corporations?

It looks very intersting, but this kind of information/applications/knowledge aren't avaiable to the average joe right?

Yep you are right, "tactical tools", spy it looks like more to "cheating spouses" P

I was refering to online cracking password for email account acess.

But i didn't even knew that was possible to intercept an email.

I just found finfisher by mistake almost, i didn't knew those kind of tools.

but finfisher is just for governments, there are tools for corporations?

I mean in the idea of tactical getting information from other companies.

Because logging their own computers i know it's possible and easy with a good software installed.

And yes of course we can't forget the law 8)
