Hi all,

I want to announce that me and a friend created a bootable forensic live cd. It's called "Digital Forensic Live CD"

It got a linux and windows side,
Linux A enviroment that you can boot from the CD, with a lot linux based forensic tools
Windows This part is for live investigation.

This is our first release, and we will upgrade a lot because we think that will be needed. I want to know if u guys like our CD.

Soon we will bring out very good documentation. Because every forensic who uses the CD needs to know what our CD is exactly changing on the investigated computer. This is something we are missing on other live CD's Anyway take a look!

forensic live cd

Please give your opinion about the cd ! )

greetings

Looks very interesting thus far. I'm wondering if you'll be doing a comparison of your toolset with say Helix Pro (when its released on 5 May)? With so many new live distros; it would be nice to have some comparisons and possibly a collective review of such CDs. I havent seen Helxi pro yet, but have already seen a few really nice features on your cd that would some me alot of time and effort (having these on a live cd).

Also, please add english language support to your feedback form 😉

Keep up the good work & best of luck with your project!

Thanks & Regards,

Firstly, congrats in creating and releasing something to the community )

A few points I would like to make about your project though

1. It doesn't boot in VMWare 6.5.2 Workstation or QEMU 0.10.2 (it gets to what looks like a quarter of a screen, and no fluxbox menu or bar appears etc, nothing is clickable or key-able (from the keys I have mashed!)

2. /sigh at another ubuntu sheep, but still…each to their own

3. There is a very similar project in its fifth revision currently at http//www.caine-live.net/

Good luck with the future of your project )

Looks good, some promising stuff, always nice to have another distro to play with.

A distro coomparison would be a excellent idea, nice to be able to see all the different products up side by side.

Keep up the good work.

I have lost count of all forensic live CDs available, but the more the merrier!

I would consider sending an email to Distrowatch.com announcing your distro, most other forensic live CDs do that.
