I have a query regarding the contacts/phonebook of the Samsung E1120.
Please find situation below;
XRY extracted 4 contacts from a Samsung E1120 with a clone SIM inserted. However upon verification, no contacts were located on the handset. When checking the memory status of the phonebook, the handset showed 0/100. Two extractions were performed using XRY (5.1) and both times these 4 contacts were extracted. Cellebrite UFED (1.1.3.8) was also used and also extracted the 4 contacts. I have attempted to connect to the handset using AT commands to manually verify the different phonebook storage (i.e. ME, SM etc) locations but have not had any success.
Additionally, I inserted the Live SIM into the handset and turned on the handset (inside a Faraday box) and the contacts were not there either. The SIM card was read using USIM Detective and I checked the contacts in the ADN and these four contacts were not there.
Any ideas of where XRY and UFED are pulling these contacts from?
One theory I have is that they may be from a previously inserted SIM and will only show the contacts if the ICCID and/or IMSI of that SIM are reinserted either using the LIVE SIM or Clone…?
so try the test sim in a virgin phone, I am pretty sure the contacts are inside the TEST card (maybe from previous investigation?)
