No, just too much drama…thought it would be better to remove my post. Rather than recommending their own list of books, some seem to prefer to comment on who says what and how…
I actually thought there were a good pair of books to recommend since they were on equally relevant but totally different focuses towards forensics.
I would suggest two books
Filesystem Forensics Analysis - Brian Carrier
Windows Forensic Analysis DVD Toolkit, Second Edition - Harlan Carvey
Harlan…I have read portions of your book and it's wonderful. I agree with you 110%, some individuals comment negatively regardless.
A bit of light-hearted ribbing about a simple faux pas is hardly "negativity", surely? Patrick4n6's original comment was clearly tongue-in-cheek and as 4n6art makes clear, disclosure is not only the "right thing" to do, it also serves to protect the poster from those who might question their motives. It seems to me this is a useful point for all concerned.
Keydet89, I don't think you needed to remove your post. I would have acutally found it beneficial knowing the author, it would be easy to PM you a 'Thank you' if I enjoy your book.
Also I was suprised when I looked at the post today. Seeing the amount of replies, it looked like there was going to be a lot of recommended books! )
Again, thank you for the recommendations. And if there are other books people have enjoyed I would be grateful if you could post them.
Cheers,
Craig
Which books have you read already, Craig? "Forensic Computing A Practitioner's Guide" by Sammes and Jenkinson?
