Topic starter

I have an assignment in my computer forensics class. The assignment consists of outlining the steps needed to document, collect, and package computer evidence at a crime scene of a suspected drug dealer. The computer is a live computer. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best place to look on the internet for this information? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

That's a pretty broad topic. If you are able to get hold of a copy of this book it has a good section on "first response" it is also US based so should be fairly accurate for you

Do take sometime to search the Forensic Focus site related to the forum as the information is readily available here

A few years ago I was given a small spiral handbook published by the U.S. Secret Service titled, "Best Practices For Seizing Electronic Evidence - A Pocket Guide for First Responders". It may be helpful to you.

Here's a link to it in electronic format
