Nice result -)
What results do you get from USB attached devices,
fixed disk?
flash disk?
Next query, what do you get with firewire attached storage?

See my blog. Seriously.

Above is fixed disk.

Got one you can loan me?
> Next query, what do you get with firewire attached storage?
Good question. I usually attach my write-blockers via Firewire, so maybe I'll grab a test disk and hook it up, and see…
See my blog. Seriously.
Ah! Yes, I see -) Not surprised with no serial info from USB, take a peek at

I've got one of those 32Mb size ones from an Encase course, you are welcome to it, should I send it over with the consignment of bottled real ale 😉

I have a Lacie drive in the office and some usb2/firewire 2.5" caddies. I would be interested to see the outcome with firewire connected storage.

Without a doubt! 😉
Re Firewire. I'll take a look at it tomorrow and see what happens…
One tool seems interesting is HDAT2
as per the site-
"HDAT2 is program for test or diagnostics of ATA/ATAPI/SATA (SATA with NCQ) and SCSI/USB devices.
It will not execute in a DOS session under Windows. You should make a DOS boot floppy disk or CD-ROM and boot your system for it and execute this program from that floppy disk or CD-ROM."
Being a newbie and a student I would be very interested in this tool. Would you mind if I shared with my professor and fellow students?
Margo,
Not at all. Email me offlist at keydet89@yahoo.com, along with your prof's name and contact info, and I'll send it along to you.
