DS_Store file creation date (Mac)

Hi, I asked some time ago about how to find out if an SD card has ever been inserted into a Mac. @anucci very kindly suggested I could use the presence of a DS_Store file to determine that. I inserted one of my SD cards into a Mac but am trying to find out if it was also inserted into a Mac before that date. Is there any way of finding that out by the creation date of the DS_store file? Or are DS_store files constantly deleted and new ones created every time an SD cars is inserted into a Mac?
