DVR ASF file repair /recovery

hi all friends
I have got 2 .ASF video files from local law enforcement agencies. Original card from DVR is in court custody.
Both files dont play anymore and may need repair /video extraction.
I have tried few tools but none is able to show any video data.
This footage is crucial for submission of case evidence .
Can someone pls. check whether any hope of data extraction is there.
