How can I examine the harddrive used in the DVR? I can't get the data in the hard drive. What is DVR format? I use FTK and Encase.

Strangely enough, it depends on the DVR (make and model) there is not a "standard". (
And you won't get very far with either FTK or Encase 😯 , see this recent thread

Yeah make and model plays a big role. I generally use X-ways if its a readable format for DVR but have had to use specialized tools based on mfg because they have proprietary encodings.
